Abstract
1504381 Developing microfiche film SCOTT PAPER CO 7 April 1975 [8 April 1974 (2)] 14209/75 Heading B2L Suction applied to a conduit 18 draws a predetermined quantity of a liquid toner-containing developer from a fluid line 17 through a passageway 33 and across an opening 34 in a developing chamber 10 against which the photoconductive surface of a section of a microfiche film 37 is held by the subatmospheric pressure produced by the suction. The developer flow is followed by sucking drying air through the chamber 10, preferably after spacing the film 37 slightly away from the borders 35 of the opening 34 to allow air to enter the chamber 10 from all around the developed area of the film 37. Two methods for dispensing the predetermined quantity of developer are disclosed. Preferably suction is applied at relatively low and high vacuum levels for the developer and drying air feeds respectively.
