Abstract

1496507 Sealing strips DEVENTER KG 5 Dec 1974 [20 Sept 1974] 52576/74 Heading E1J A seal comprises a resilient backing lip 9 and a flexible sheet 16 secured relative to the lip at a position outside the sliding zone, the sheet being substantially non-resilient so that it does not contribute to the sealing force. The sheet is secured by an extension 18 of a support member 17. Alternatively the sheet is secured by sewing or clips (Figs. 10, 11) to a support, or has an edge embedded in a support which is integral with the lip (Figs. 13, 14) and which may contain a reinforcement (19a, Fig. 12). In Fig. 15 (not shown) the sheet is secured to a portion of a reinforcing strip (19) which extends along the lip by bonding- material (24).
