149,413. Barker, G. May 10, 1919. Converting reciprocating into rotary motion, applicable to steam-engines, internalcombustion engines, &c. Two separate links or a bell-crank lever b with one pivoted arm b<2> are pivoted to move with the end of a reciprocating connecting-rod a, and are attached to a chain or belt c passing over two wheels d, one of which carries the driven shaft. As the rod reciprocates, the chain passes around the wheels, being carried over the dead points by the momentum of the parts. Guiding- rollers f for the chain are provided. One such system may be arranged on each side of the connecting-rod.
