Abstract

1491422 Movable elevation guides; masted lift trucks KOOI BV 14 Jan 1976 [21 Jan 1975] 01356/76 Headings B8L and B8H A fork lift truck comprises a mast 11 mounted on a frame 1 for tilting movements forwardly and rearwardly, and also being movable transversely to the normal direction of truck travel by a distance of at least half the width of the truck. The mast 11 is mounted through plates 9 on to a circular shaft 8 slidable and rotatable in a circular sectional tube 7 secured transversely across the frame 1, the plates 9 extending through a longitudinal slot in the tube 7. Transverse movement of the mast is effected by a ram mounted at one end to one side of the frame 1, and at the other end to a part 14 secured to one of the plates 9, the ram mountings permitting tilting of the mast relative to the frame. The tilting of the mast is effected by a ram 22 pivotally mounted at one end to a part 21 of the mast 11 and at the other end to one leg 23 of a toggle lever 24 pivoted at 25 to the mast, the other lever leg 26 being pivoted to an element 28 slidable transversely of the truck in a guide rail 30 on the frame 1. Angled stops are secured to the frame 1 at each side thereof to prevent the forks from engaging the truck front wheels 2 either when the forks are moving horizontally or downwardly towards the wheels. The forks 15, 16 are movable on rollers 18 along the mast under the control of a ram 20 and sprocket chains 19.
