Abstract
148,361. Daimler-Motoren-Ges. Oct. 26, 1918, [Convention date]. Force-feed lubricating.-To lubricate the piston of an internal-combustion engine, an air-compressor a is connected to the crank-chamber so as to create sufficient pressure to force oil in an atomized condition between the piston and cylinder. The suction of the compressor may also be connected by a pipe f to the crank-chamber so as to reduce the pressure therein if the ordinary lubrication is too copious. The pipes b, f are controlled by three-way cocks d<1>, g<1>. If the cylinder is supplied with pre-compressed air, a second compressor driven by the engine is used for this purpose.
