Abstract
1480074 Rotary screen printing G S McGEE 21 Aug 1974 [27 Aug 1973] 36716/74 Heading B6C A screen printer in which continuous lengths of fabric carried on a conveyor belt pass under a plurality of screen printing cylinders is provided with means whereby each cylinder can be individually adjusted in the longitudinal direction of travel of the fabric. A web of fabric is fed onto a conveyor belt 30 which in its lower run passes through a washing arrangement (38), Fig. 1 (not shown) and through beltadjusting rollers (40). Each screen printing head 48 is mounted to be adjustable along rails 44, Fig. 4 carried on the frame (12), Fig. 1, of the machine, each head 48 having its own associated housing 52 for its drive mechanisms. Each head 48 comprises a screen-printing cylinder 76 and an impression roller 90; the ends of the cylinder 76 can be independently adjusted horizontally and vertically; cylinders 76 of different sizes can be interchanged and meshed with alternative gears 97; the position of the housing 52 along the track formed by rails 44 can be locked by control 66. The magnetic device of Specification 1,480,075 can be utilized to adjust the pressure between cylinder 76 and impression roller 90.
