Abstract

1477984 Printing apparatus FUJI SHIKO K K 15 Oct 1975 [21 May 1975] 42287/75 Heading B6C A printing press comprises a carriagesupported printing roller 1 which is reciprocated over a step-fed paper web 24 and which receives ink from applicator rollers 21a, 21b which move into and out of contact with roller 1 as it moves. The carriage is supported on rollers 4, which run on rails 5, and is reciprocated by a belt, driven via a cranked segment 12, by a motor shaft 15. Rollers 21a, 21b are moved into and out of engagement with roller 1 by a synchronized cam and lever system which is described in detail. In a modification the arrangement of the applicator rollers 21a, 21b is such that they rotate in opposite directions, one roller being used for each stroke of the roller 1.
