Abstract
1477885 Controlling toner particle concentration XEROX CORP 28 Oct 1974 [5 Nov 1973] 46434/74 Heading G2H An apparatus which indicates toner concentration comprises an electrode means 46 mounted in a rotatable photo-sensitive drum 10, the means 46 being electrically biased to attract toner particles when it passes through the mix. Light means 48 irradiates the electrode means 46 via fiber optics 50, 62 and a photodiode 52 mounted near the drum 10 monitors the intensity of light passing through the particles on the electrode 46 and produces a thermally insensitive electrical signal which is amplified to a usable level. Amplifying circuit means, which interprets the signal, is described. The light 48 may be mounted in the drum 10. A toner dispenser is activated by the amplified signal.
