Abstract

1477503 Dock gate B LUDVIGSSON 15 July 1974 [26 July 1973] 31197/74 Heading E1H A dock gate comprises a movable door structure which excludes water from dock 10 adjacent a body of water. The opening of the dock is defined by a threshold 11 and two side posts 12. The portion of the door structure which receives the sidewardly directed water pressure includes a vertical waist portion, or door panel proper 13, and a lower balancing portion 14 rigidly connected to the waist portion at the level of the threshold so that the reaction forces to the water pressure will be received by the threshold at 19.
