Abstract

1473195 Liquid metal metering apparatus NORSK HYDRO AS 21 Oct 1974 [19 Oct 1973] 45456/74 Heading B8N [Also in Division F2] An apparatus for metering liquid metal, e.g. liquid sodium, comprises a container 5 to be submerged in a melt, a pressurized gas supply 12 to the container and a valve removably mounted in the lower wall 4 of the container. The valve has an upwardly directed flange 17 which seats on a surface 14 around the inlet opening 22 of the container. The valve is pivotally mounted on a lever 2 which is used to move the valve into the opening 22. The lever is releasably mounted on a plate 8 by a wing nut 9. The metal is dispensed by the pressurized gas through a tube 13 to a mould of a die-casting machine.
