Abstract
1473072 Sectional water tube boilers V J CAROSSO and J Y CAROSSO 19 May 1975 [19 Dec 1974] 21299/75 Heading F4A A water tube boiler comprising a tube lined combustion chamber 1 and a convection tube bank 6 fed from an upper and lower pair of headers 3 at the periphery of the boiler is formed from a number of sections with header sections being welded together to form complete headers. As shown the boiler (used to produce superheated water but can be applied to steam generation) has an economizer section 12 and is formed in four sections: two halves of the combustion chamber welded at 2, the convection section welded on at 10 and 11, and the economizer section welded on at 16 and 17. The convection tubes 9 extend vertically between horizontal headers 7, 8 and the economizer tubes 13 are finned and extend horizontally between vertical headers 14. More boiler sections can be used if necessary and all parts can be formed separately prior to assembly The boiler is surrounded by an insulating jacket.
