Classes 64(1) and 123(2) In the steam generator or hot-water boiler described in the parent Specification the upper end of each of the tubes forming the frontmost row of the convection section S and the upper end of each of the tubes 9 which together form the wall separating the combustion chamber 1 from the downpass 14 are connected directly to the steam drum 5 instead of to collector headers In addition, especially when the furnace is to be oil-fired, the lower parts of the tubes 9 are taken below the floor 50 of the combustion chamber and connected to a distributing header 51 disposed below the header 3 and, like that header, connected by a downcomer pipe to the drum 5.
