Abstract
1469182 Explosive compositions C A KNAPP 28 March 1974 [3 April 1973] 13867/74 Heading C1D [Also in Division F3] An explosive composition having illuminating and incendiary properties comprises an organic high explosive and a pyrophoric metal, which metal has an average particle size of not less than 0À1 inch The preferred metal is zirconium, but reference is also made to the use of Ti, Mg, Al, Mn, Fe, B, Be, Hf, Mo, Cu, Zn, Si, Pb, Sb, U, misch metal, and rare earth metals. The high explosive may be TNT, a mixture of RDX and wax, a mixture of TNT and RDX, with or without wax, a mixture of TNT and aluminium, or a mixture of RDX and lead azide.
