Abstract
1460929 Injection moulding of foamed plastics SCHLOEMANN-SIEMAG AG 1 July 1974 [7 July 1973] 29016/74 Heading B5A The surface of a mould part 1 which, together with one or more other mould parts, defines the wall of a mould cavity for the injection moulding of a thermoplastics foam material, is provided with heating means in the form of a metallic layer 5 e.g. of copper through which electric current is passed. A layer 4 of electrically and thermally insulating material is applied to the mould surface by sintering, and a covering layer 6 e.g. of ceramics is provided. Such heating provides a smooth surface on the moulded article.
