Abstract

1300247 Moulding plastic substances ELPHIAC 27 Feb 1970 [27 Feb 1969 17 Dec 1969] 9592/70 Heading B5A [Also in Division H5] A material with little or no electrical conductivity is loaded with ferromagnetic or conductive particles and heated by an inductor assembly having a moulding space, part of the inner surface of which space is formed by part of the insulation between the conductors or turns of the inductor. The inductor may be toroidal, Fig. 1, or a coiled inductor 17 embedded in P.T.F.E. insulation 18, Fig. 3. A reinforcing tube 19 or a gripping tool prevents the inductor from opening. Pistons 20, 21, of electrically and thermally insulating material are provided for moulding. Water or steam is circulated through inductor 17.
