Abstract

1457463 Clay-ware vessels STAFFORDSHIRE POTTERIES Ltd 4 Nov 1974 [5 Jan 1974] 00561/74 Heading A4A [Also in Division B8] A clay-ware vessel 10 has a mouth 12 of oval shape and a lid 14 therefor, the lid having a skirt 18 of complementary shape to the mouth so that it can be received therein, and portions 22, 24 of the wall of the skirt being indented inwardly of its free edge 20 to permit rotation of the lid relative to the mouth to prevent removal of the lid by lifting. As shown the indentations extend arcuately about the ends of the major axis of the skirt and each terminates in an outwardly projecting shoulder 26, (28) which prevents further rotation of the lid when it has reached the locked position.
