Abstract

1457320 Liquid-ring compressors SIEMENS AG 10 April 1974 [12 April 1973] 16042/74 Heading F1C A manifold for a liquid-ring compressor having a horizontal rotor shaft, comprises an inlet 3, Fig. 2, an outlet 4, at least one plane end-wall formed with suction and exhaust ports 7, 8 for communication with a working chamber, and a chamber 5 extending substanially the full width of the manifold for collecting liquid separated from the discharging gas flow. The exhaust port 8 lies above the chamber 5 and below the outlet 4. Moreover, the port 8 is located on one side of vertical plane I-I whereas the outlet is located on the other side of the plane. The chamber 5 may contain a cooling coil 18 and may be defined by a detachable trough 15 provided with an overflow port 17. A silencer 23 may be provided. Cooling and sealing liquid can be drawn from the trough via tube 22. In Fig. 1 (not shown), a liquid-ring compressor is provided with a working chamber at each end of the manifold. The two working chambers and their respective rotors may be of different axial lengths.
