1455346 Retractable suspensions EEZION Ltd 23 May 1975 [10 July 1974] 30604/74 Addition to 1353108 Heading B7D In a retractable suspension comprising on each side of a trailer chassis 10 a pivoted wheel arm 12 movable by means of an hydraulic ram 19 between a position in which the chassis is lowered to facilitate loading and a position in which the chassis is raised and a leaf spring 18 on the arm 12 engages a latch mechanism as described in the main patent, the end 28 of the arm 12 remote from its pivot 14 and the upper end of a support arm 15 to which the ram 19 is connected are cranked outwardly from the chassis 10 to provide extra clearance for enabling the trailer to carry a wider vehicle without any increase in overall width.
