Abstract

1449885 Ventilating mines COAL INDUSTRY (PATENTS) Ltd 1 March 1974 [16 March 1973] 12737/73 Heading F4V [Also in Division F1] An ejector has an elongated passage 2 having an inducing fluid inlet nozzle 5 directed towards an outlet 3 and an inlet slot 7 tapered towards the outlet. The cross section of the passage 2 may increase (as shown) towards the outlet or decrease and may be other than circular. The nozzle 5 may be located adjacent the wall of the passage. In use the ejection may be mounted on the side edge, downstream of the main ventilation airflow X, of a mine roof canopy 11 or one ejection may be disposed on each edge. The nozzle 5 is supplied with liquid and the ejection serves to discharge and wet dust particle laden air.
