Abstract
1449202 Knitting machines WILDT MELLOR BROMLEY Ltd 10 Dec 1973 [6 Jan 1973] 902/73 Heading D1C A circular knitting machine, incorporating a patterning mechanism including spring-tailed jacks 20 with lifting butts 22 for engaging raising cams 24, 25 and patterning butts 30 e.g. on presser members 26 engageable by selector members D, E, is characterised in that the selector members are arranged in two axially and circumferentially spaced groups D, E with the circumferential spacing equal to that between two active faces 24a, b of the associated cam 24, butts 22 not engaged by members D being lifted by face 24a and if not engaged by members E being further lifted by face 24b to bring control butts 16 into an active track X above a dividing cam 38, this arrangement of the selector members allowing them to be changed when they are all clear of the jack butts without the provision of a needle-free zone on the cylinder. The selector members are slidably mounted in a block and spring-urged to inoperative position.. They are set in selecting position by a pivoted cam lever, suitably controlled by the pattern device of Specification no. 1167418. The selector members are latchable in both positions.
