Abstract

1447248 Sound deadening panel LARMSCHULTZ BIERGANS & CO KG 23 Nov 1973 [23 Nov 1972] 54580/73 Heading E1B A sound deadening panel comprises a housing which has a front wall 1 with apertures 7, a rear wall 2 and side walls 5, 6 which have lugs 29, 30 arranged so that the lugs on adjacent elements interlock. The housing contains a panel 42 of sound absorbent material e.g glass fibre resting on the bottom 3 and held in position by a web 43. The side wall 5 may have a sharp edged sealing web 40 which fits in a recess 41 in the side wall 6 of an adjacent element. The bottom 3 may have projections which fit into the top 4 of a lower element. The front and rear walls may also be joined by a partition 44 which may be arranged to take a re-inforcing rod. The rear wall 2 may have U-shaped indentations 14, may slope forward towards the front wall and have projections 10 at the bottom to fit the recesses 12. Elements may be joined together by rods passing through the apertures in the interlocking lugs 29, 30 and formed into walls. The end of the rod may be anchored in the floor to give a free-standing wall. Fig. 1 shows a vertical section, Fig. 2 a horizontal section and Fig. 3 a front elevation each of two elements joined together.
