Abstract

1446682 Ferritic alloy for high temperature use BETHLEHEM STEEL CORP 17 July 1974 [20 July 1973] 31651/74 Heading C7A A ferritic alloy of composition C 0 to 0.1% The ferritic alloy may contain small intermetallic Ti Si type precipitates dispersed throughout the grains and may be produced by vacuum induction melting, vacuum casting, slow cooling to ambient temperature, slow heating over at least five hours to a soaking temperature of 2025 to 2130‹F, hotrolling to a finishing temperature between 1650‹F to 1850‹F and slow cooling in sand. The alloy may be utilized in high temperature exhaust systems for automobiles, jet engines and in the petrochemical industry.
