Abstract

1436632 Photographic processing apparatus AGFA-GEVAERT AG 19 April 1973 [19 April 1972] 19016/73 Heading G2X A photographic processing apparatus comprises a main processing liquid tank 2, an auxiliary tank into which liquid from the main tank overflows when the level in the latter reaches a predetermined level, an auxiliary tank from which liquid is supplied to the main tank to prevent the liquid level dropping below the overflow level, and means for supplying liquid to this latter auziliary tank when the liquid level therein has fallen below a predetermined level. The two auxiliary tanks may be the same. As shown, a processing apparatus for insertion in a machine frame comprises the main tank 2 through which a photographic material to be processed is transported by rollers inserted in apertures, 7, and a single auxiliary tank 13. In use, the liquid in tank 2 is maintained at level 30 by a weir or spillway 14 over which it flows into tank 13. Liquid is returned to tank 2 from tank 13 by a bladewheel pump 4 through a channel 11. The liquid in tank 13 is maintained at level 22 by a topping- up bottle 15 having a valve 16. Tank 2 may be emptied by lowering a hose (26) attached to the tank by a connector (25). If weir or spillway 14 is inclined the liquid level 30 may be varied in use by tilting tank 2.
