Abstract

1436611 Two-part coupling RENDAR INSTRUMENTS Ltd 12 Aug 1974 [11 July 1973 13 May 1974] 33158/73 and 21107/74 Heading H2E A socket body 40 has recesses to hold a plurality of fork contacts 11 and further recesses 58 into which snap fit lugs 57 of a cover 41. Access to the contacts through holes 47, 48, 49 in the cover is blocked by shutter 42 held in place by hairpin springs 51, 52 until a pin acts on cam 53 to force the shutter away from the holes. In a further embodiment, shown in Fig. 4, a spring 28 holds together two halves 26, 27 of a shutter until a pin acting on cams 32, 33 forces the halves, located by legs 34, 35 acting in grooves in the body, apart to allow access to the contacts.
