Abstract

1435256 Dyeing cellulosic fibres and mixtures thereof with polyesters BAYER AG 27 Aug 1974 [28 Aug 1973] 37392/74 Heading D1B Textile materials containing cellulosic fibres e.g. cotton, linen, hemp, viscose staple or rayon, and mixtures of cellulose e.g. cotton and viscose staple are dyed or printed with a padding liquor or print paste containing a fibre-reactive dyestuff, a cyclic carbonic acid alkylene ester and an acid-binding agent which produces pH of 6.5-9.0 in the padding liquor or print paste. Preferably 10-50 g of carbonic acid alkylene ester and 1-5 g of acid-binding agent are used per litre of padding liquor or Kg of print paste. Azo, anthraquinone, phthalocyanine or oxazine reactive dyes are used preferably containing a difluorochloropyrimidyl or methyl-sulphonyl-pyrimidyl group. The cyclic carbonic acid alkylene esters are preferably ethylene- or 1, 2-propylene carbonates and the acid-binding agents include alkali metal bicarbonate, disodium hydrogen phosphate, a mixture of mono-sodium dihyrdogen phosphate and disodium hydrogen phosphate and the padding liquors may also contain borax. Unions with polyester are padded with mixtures or reactive and disperse dyes.
