Abstract

1434607 Tumble driers PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd 14 June 1973 28338/73 Heading F4G A tumbler drier comprises a drum 6 rotatable within a cabinet and having an opening which lies adjacent a door 2 of the cabinet. The door 2 carries a baffle 11 which partly closes the opening in the drum 6 and which serves in use to deflect air passing through the drum into a duct co-axial with the door opening of the cabinet. The buffer 11 is provided with a perforated guard ring 10 to prevent articles being dried falling out of the opening. The baffle 11 end and guard ring 10 are moulded with the guard ring having a pattern of preferably square holes (Fig. 4, not shown) to allow passage of air. Used air passes into a duct 14 and thence into the atmosphere from the rear of the cabinet.
