Abstract

1434316 Air supply to furnaces GOTAVERKEN ANGTEKNIK AB 11 April 1974 [25 May 1973] 16069/74 Heading F4B In a furnace, particularly an incinerator for black liquor, of the kind having sleeves 17 within the air inlet openings so the narrow annular air passage 20 is less easily blocked, dampers 22 are opened to allow part of the air to pass into the furnace through the sleeve. The actuating rod 24 for the dampers passes through a door 15, closing the end of the sleeve which is sealed to outer wall 14 of the air box. The part 18 of the sleeve remote from the furnace wall is wider than the outer wall of the annular passage, and the dampers 22 close openings 21 in a sloping part connecting the two parts of the sleeve, so that a poker inserted through an inlet provided in the door 15 may pass through the openings 21 to clean the annular passage. The door 15 also has an observation device, and an opening for inserting tools.
