Abstract

1434032 Draught inducers G APPLEGATE 4 July 1973 [4 July 1972] 31231/72 Headings F4B and F4J A draught inducer for insertion in a boiler flue comprises an open ended tubular housing 1 of square section with a lateral connection 2 to the outlet of a blower 3, a flared tubular member 8 with its larger end 10 upstream of said connection 2 and attached to the housing and a flared tubular member 9 concentric with member 8, the blower output in the generally converging space defined by said members 8 and 9 producing an injector effect on the waste gases entering said member 8. The housing is of polygonal, e.g. square or rectangular crosssection and the smaller of members 8 and 9 are of circular cross-section. The blower 3 is disposed in a recess 4 in the flue wall W or may be disposed substantially at ground level (Fig. 4). The invention may also be applied to a flue of rectangular cross section (Fig. 3).
