Abstract

1427717 Turf scarifier SISIS EQUIPMENT (MACCLESFIELD) LTD 23 July 1973 [8 July 1972] 32073/72 Heading A1B A turf working machine having a quick release cutter shaft comprises two bearings 12, 20 one at each side of the machine on a common transverse axis. The bearing 12 carries a stub shaft 16 which terminates inwardly in a hollow non-circular extension tube 18 which engages the non-circular end of a turf cutter blade supporting shaft 30. The other bearing 20 has a circular bore to engage the circular end of the shaft 30 and is fitted therefrom along with the shaft 30. The bearing 20 is supported in a U- shaped cut-out 22 in the framework by means of a plate 24 and a handle 26. Rotation of the handle once the shaft and bearing have been positioned causes slots in the plate to engage bolts 18 on the framework by which the plate and thereby the bearing is secured to the framework.
