Abstract

1424749 Fluid-pressure servomotor systems HOERBIGER VENTILWERKE AG 27 Sept 1973 [27 Sept 1972] 45358/73 Heading G3P The rotational speed of a shaft 2 is converted into a pneumatic output signal at a duet 10 by two pairs of nozzles 3, 4, 5, 6, connected in series by a duct 7 and co-operating with apertures in a disc 8. The signal is maximum when the time taken for a pulse to pass through the duct 7 is the: same as the time taken for an aperture to travel from one pair of nozzles to the other. The nozzles may be adjusted radially to co-operate with a number of series of apertures 8, 8', 8" and a number of discs may also be provided to increase the range of speeds.at which the device can be used. A duct 9 supplies the nozzle 3 through a diaphragm-actuated pressure regulator 21 and also supplies the nozzle 6 through a restriction 27 so that there is a continuous flow from the latter nozzle which is modulated by pulses from.the nozzle 5 to control a diaphragm actuated valve 23. This valve varies the pressure in the duct 10 by connecting it to a vent 26, the ducts 9 and 10 being connected by a restriction 24. The regulator 21, valve 23 and restriction 27 may be omitted, the nozzle 6 then receiving pulses from the nozzle 5 to provide the output signal.
