Abstract

1424722 Inks; wax compositions BATTELLE MEMORIAL INSTITUTE 7 May 1973 [8 May 1972] 21730/73 Headings C4A and C5W An electrically conducting ink melting between 50‹ and 80‹C is made by mixing about 15 parts by weight of paraffin wax melting between 60‹ and 62‹C, about 1À3 parts by weight of an ester wax softening between 81‹ and 86‹C, about 3 parts by weight of a mineral jelly melting between 38‹ and 60‹C and having a density between 0À880 and 0À895, and about 73À3 parts by weight of powdered nickel, bring- ing the mixture to a temperature between 90‹ and 110‹C and ballmilling it at this temperature until its electrical resistivity is not more than 1 Ohm-cm at room temperature. The mixture may also include a dispersion-stabilizing agent, e.g. Mg stearate, triethanolamine tristearate or glycerine monostearate, an anticrystallizing agent, e.g. nonyl hydroxy-4-benzoate, a plasticizer, e.g. dioctyl phthalate or dibutyl phthalate and a dye or pigment.
