Abstract

1421132 Prevention erosion TUP (PANAMA) SA 11 Jan 1973 [28 Jan 1972] 4017/72 Heading E1H Means for preventing erosion of land by water comprises a longitudinally extending member of mechanically strong material (e.g. concrete) and of generally cruciform crosssection laid with the ends of two arms in contact with the land surface, the member being made up of two or more interlocked rectangular slabs 10. Each slab has a slot 11 extending from one end along the longitudinal centre-line of the slab preferably for half its length so that two slabs may be interlocked at right angles to form a cruciform-sectioned unit. Alternatively a plurality of slabs may be assembled with the open ends of their slots all facing the same direction. Stabilizing ribs may project from the surface of the slabs in line with one edge of the slots.
