Abstract

1419569 Boosters ICI AUSTRALIA Ltd 26 Feb 1973 [8 March 1972] 9361/73 Heading F3A A booster comprises a body of sensitive secondary high explosive formed with one or more bores that extend throughout the length of the body, and one or more flexible resilient restraining members protruding from within the explosive material and into the bore or bores so as to frictionally engage a detonator or fuze-cord inserted therein. The restraining member comprises a ring or sleeve of rubber or foamed polyurethane. The booster is made by casting the explosive in a casing or mould provided with a former(s) for producing the bore(s), the restraining member previously having been located on the former.
