Abstract

1418965 Variable resistors WALTER PREH GmbH 5 Oct 1973 [7 Oct 1972] 46758/73 Heading HIS A resistance element 3 for a slide resistor is riveted at 4 to an insulating plate 1 and is engaged at its ends by resilient fingers 6 of respective terminals which are riveted at 7 to plate 1 and permit expansion and contraction of the element 3. The fingers 6 of each terminal extend from a web 5, one end of which is formed as a soldering tag 8 and the other end of which is bent (9) and engages a slot in the plate 1. The element 3 may comprise a resistive coating on a paper backing with conductive end layers of silver. A slider member (not shown) may slide in a longitudinal slot in plate 1 between resistance element 3 and a parallel collector element 2; alternatively plate 1 may form the base of a housing, the slider member extending from a slot along the top of the housing.
