Abstract

1417947 Intermittent web feeds N C R CORP 27 Feb 1974 [7 March 1973] 8858/74 Heading B8R [Also in Divisions B6 and F2] A web feed roller on a shaft 61 is rotated stepwise by a pawl 104 and ratchet wheel 100, the pawl being driven by a solenoid 112 which is coupled to a pneumatic dashpot 120 comprising a cylinder housing a piston 122 and having an outlet orifice 133 for air, the dashpot opposing the action of the solenoid to a degree which increases with increasing piston speed.
