Abstract

1417492 Electromagnets SUWASEIKOSHA KK and SHINSHU SEIKI KK 9 Jan 1974 [26 Jan 1973] 00977/74 Heading H1P [Also in Division B6] A print hammer 21 is held against spring bias by magnetic flux in a first magnetic circuit containing a coil 36 or permanent magnet, a yoke 33 and holding portions 33a, 33b and is released by actuating a coil 28 in a second magnetic circuit including a permanent magnet 27 and a core 35, such actuation reversing the polarity of the magnet 27 and thereby reducing the flux in the first magnetic circuit. The polarity of the permenent magnet 27 is such as to assist hammer retention until the coil 18 is actuated.
