Abstract

1417406 Cooling beverages MARSTON PAXMAN Ltd 7 Dec 1973 [18 Dec 1972] 58293/72 Heading F4H A beverage cooling system, e.g. for beer, comprises a refrigeration unit 1, the evaporator 3 of which is in indirect contact with a cooling medium flowing within a tank 4, a pump 6 for pumping the cooling medium via an inlet manifold 7 to a plurality of inlet connections 9 of secondary heat exchangers 8, and an outlet manifold 12 and return pipe 5 for returning the cooling medium to the tank 4. A beer-carrying coil 13 is disposed in each secondary heat exchanger, in between a beer barrel 14 and a beer pump 18. The temperature of the beer is directly monitored by a thermostat 16 which is in contact with the coil 13 and controls a solenoid operated valve 17 in each inlet connection 9. The inlet manifold 7 may be in communication with the return pipe 5 via a restriction 9.
