Abstract

1414676 Pivoted knuckle type railway car couplers MIDLAND-ROSS CORP 18 April 1973 [21 April 1972] 18804/73 Heading B7T A railway car coupler comprises a head having a guard arm on one side and a knuckle pivoted on its other side for movement between a closed and an open position, the nose portion 16 of the knuckle having a flat vertical aligning surface 22 which extends transversely and rearwardly from the coupler centre line X-X at an angle of 26 degrees to a plane normal to this line, the surface being disposed opposite a convex pulling face 24. The surface 22 when extended and the knuckle in its closed position intersects the forward end of the guard arm.
