Abstract

1414338 Venetian blinds PERMA SYSTEM AB 23 May 1973 [28 June 1972] 24738/73 Heading E1J An operating mechanism for a Venetian blind includes a first reel 23 for the draw cord, a second, co-axial reel 15 having peripheral recesses for accommodating protrusions (e.g. a ball 33) on the ladder tapes 21 and a plate 19 extending around at least part of the second reel's periphery, and the two reels are clutched together by means of a leaf spring secured to the first reel 23, the spring urging a key 26 into engagement with a recess 32 in the second reel. During raising or lowering of the blind, the draw cord engages around the key 26 and disengages it from the second reel to thereby prevent rotation of the second reel. The first reel 23 is journalled onto a hollow stud 12 engaged around a drive, shaft I, the reel 23 having a wedge keyed through a slot in the stud into a groove in the shaft.
