Abstract
1412464 Printers A B DICK CO 11 Oct 1972 [12 Oct 1971] 46930/72 Heading G4H An ink droplet writing system comprises a nozzle-vibrating transducer 14 to which drive signals are applied at a frequency F d , and a droplet charging device 24 to which video pulse signals are applied to charge the droplets passing therethrough, the video pulse signals being applied at a frequency F v , the frequency Fd being related to the frequency F v and to the shape of the video pulse signals such that an ink droplet is generated while a video pulse is at substantially maximum value. Each video pulse is characterized by a rise time T r , a maximum value time T e and a fall time T f , the rise time generally exceeding the fall time, and the frequences are related by the relationship F d = F v /(1 - F v .T r ) and F d .T e # 1.
