Abstract
1412394 Hydraulic jacks; reciprocating pumps APPLIED POWER Inc 14 May 1974 [4 June 1973] 21318/74 Heading F1A and F1D A hydraulic jack comprises a cast aluminium housing 12, Fig. 11, with a reservoir 16, an iron sleeve 112 cast into the housing with a steel plunger 114 mounted therein for reciprocable motion, a pump 18 and a relief valve 20, Fig. 12 for allowing return of liquid to the reservoir. A shoulder 128 on the sleeve prevents axial movement and ribs 132 prevent rotation. Hydraulic fluid is prevented from entering between the sleeve and the housing by a seal 125. The pump comprises a manually operated steel plunger 82, Fig. I I, in a steel cylinder and a pair of steel check valves 22, 24. Air is vented from the reservoir by a plug 144, Fig. 12, with a port 148 and a cross-bore 140.
