Abstract

1409928 Cabinets F STALDER AND U OPPLIGER 19 Oct 1973 [24 Oct 1972] 48824/73 Heading A4B A cabinet or like article of furniture for location in a right-angled corner of a room comprises two bodies 1, 2 displaceably mounted in a common frame 3, the first body 1 being mounted on a bottom runner 15 and in side guide rails 12 receiving rollers 13 carried by the body 1 so that it may be pulled forward from the frame 3 to a drawn-out position in which it is rotatable through 90 degrees on vertical hinges 9, and the second body 2 being connected with the first body 1 by a mechanism which displaces the second body 2 into or out of the space in the frame 3 vacated by the first body 1 when moved to the drawn-out position. As shown the mechanism comprises a first lever 4 pivoted at one end to the second body 2 and at the opposite end to a second lever 5 pivotally secured to the frame 3 and a third lever 6 pivoted at one end to the second lever 5 and provided at its opposite end with a roller 11 biased by a spring 8 on to a bar 7 fixed to the top of the first body 1. When the first body 1 is fully drawn out the roller 11 engages one or other of two recesses 10a, 10b in the lug 10 on the end of the bar 7 in dependence on whether the body 1 is pivoted clockwise or anti-clockwise. The mechanism may alternatively comprise a cable line, chain line or rack and pinion.
