Abstract
1409242 Straps FISONS Ltd 23 Aug 1972 [7 Sept 1971] 41671/71 Heading A4X [Also in Division B8] A unitary load comprises a pair of adjacent stacks of articles e.g. sacks which are encircled by a sling comprising a length of flexible fabric whose ends are joined by a ring 2 and the midpoint of the length of fabric is formed into a loop 1 which is held in position by stitching or rivetting at A, the loop 1 which is passed upwardly between the stacks of articles and through the ring 2 serving as a lifting loop. The fabric is also joined at B and thus forms two load-encircling loops 3, 4. The ends of the length of fabric may be held in position relative to the joining ring by means of locking pins (40, 41) which pass through respective loops (42, 43) in the ends of the length of fabric, Fig. 6 (not shown), or the two pins may be replaced by a further ring (44), Fig. 7 (not shown). The sling of the unitary load may comprise two pairs of lifting loops (10, 11) and (12, 13), Fig. 2 (not shown). In a further embodiment, Fig. 8 (not shown), the sling is combined with a pallet or base board upon which the stacks of sacks are built.
