Abstract

1431041 Slings FISONS Ltd 4 April 1973 [7 Feb 1972] 5485/72 Heading B8H A sling which is used in forming a unitary load comprises a closed loop 1 of strapping material, part of which is formed into a central secondary loop 4 by securing together two points of the closed loop 1, such securing not being shown in the Figures, the secondary loop 4 carrying an annular member in the form of a steel chain link 2 having a cross-bar 3 passing through the loop 4. The sling is shown in Fig. 3 encompassing two stacks of articles to form a unitary load, a pair of indented portions 6, 7 of the closed loop 1 being passed respectively through an aperture formed on either side of the cross-bar 3, a pin 8, 9 being inserted into the indented portions 6, 7 respectively to prevent the said indented portions from unthreading from the apertures. The unitary load is lifted by means of an upstanding lifting loop 10 formed in the closed loop 1. Instead of being a rectangular member 2 as shown, the annular member may be of circular or oval shape. The sling may be attached to a pallet (11), Fig. 5 (not shown)
