Abstract

1409243 Straps FISONS Ltd 23 Aug 1972 [7 Sept 1971] 20955/75 Divided out of 1409242 Heading A4X [Also in Division B8] A sling for lifting adjacent stacks of articles comprises a flexible length of fabric having a first port which is secured at points A, B by stitching or welding whereby a lifting loop 1 is formed above the point A, the ends of the length of fabric being joined by a ring 2 through which the loop 1 is passed to form two side-by-side load encircling loops 3, 4, the ring 2 preventing transverse movement of the first port of the sling relative to the remainder of the sling. The sling may comprise two pairs of load encircling loops (10, 11) and (12, 13), Fig. 2 (not shown), and the sling of Fig. 1 may be combined with a pallet or baseboard comprising longitudinal members (45, 46) linked by crosspieces (47-50), Fig. 8 (not shown). The ends of the length of fabric may be attached to the joining ring (37) of Fig. 6 (not shown), by means of pins (40, 41) which pass through loops (42, 43) in the ends of the fabric, and the pins (40, 41) may be replaced by a further ring (44), Fig. 7 (not shown). Alternatively the ends of the fabric may be joined by means of longitudinal linkage pieces (26, 27), Fig. 4 (not shown).
