Abstract

1409222 Dough piece processing apparatus DEBAG DEUTSCHE BACKOFENBAU GmbH 13 Feb 1974 [21 March 1973] 06488/74 Heading A2A A dough piece processing apparatus, for use for example in the manufacture of small bread loaves, comprises a dough processing machine 12, dough piece processing devices 14, 16 and a delivery station 18 connected to one another by conveying means which includes a feed belt 24 for transporting dough pieces 26 from a delivery belt 22 of the processing machine 12 to the processing devices 14 and 16. The belt 24 is sufficiently wide to accommodate several rows of adjacent dough pieces 26, and the end of the belt 24 lies above the loading end of a conveyor belt 28 which leads to an endless conveyor 32 which traverses the delivery station 18. The conveyor 32 consists of two parallel spaced-apart chains between which a plurality of tipping pans or troughs 30 are carried; each trough 30 being suspended from the chains of the conveyor 32 in such a manner as to be capable of pivotal movement about an axis which is above its centre of gravity when the trough 30 is free to perform pivotal movement. When a sensor 74 contacts a piece of dough in the leading trough 30, subsequent movement of the conveyor 32 causes the dough piece to pivot the sensor 74 which actuates a switch 76 which in turn causes a rail 70 to move vertically downwards, so that the troughs 30 are moved from the carrying position to a tipped position in which the dough pieces are transferred to a take-off carrier 67.
