Abstract

1404937 Spraying nozzles LUCAS INDUSTRIES LTD 30 Oct 1972 [13 Nov 1971] 52819/ 71 Heading B2F [Also in Division F4] A liquid atomising nozzle, e.g. for use in the burners of a gas turbine engine, comprises tubular bodies 1, 4, the body 4 having orifices 6 (only one of which is shown), through which liquid fuel passes to flow along the frusto conical mixer surface 10 of a sleeve 8 welded at 9, the fuel mixing with air from the passage 2. The orifices 6 are angled to impart a rotary motion to the spray, which is conical in shape. The rotated liquid discharged is directed inwardly by an annular lip 11 and the body 1 is located within a ring of air swirler blades, not shown.
