Abstract

1402660 Steel powder TOYO KOHAN CO Ltd 17 Aug 1973 38896/73 Addition to 1378844 Heading C7A A prealloyed powder for powder forging comprises:- C up to 0.5% Cu 0.8-5% Mn up to 0.6% Mo 0.1-0.7% the balance, apart from impurities, being Fe. Before consolidation graphite powder is added as required to bring the carbon content into the range 0.1-05.%. The prealloyed powder may be prepared by gas or water jet atomization of a suitable melt. The forged body may be heated at 880‹C, oil quenched and tempered at 450- 600‹C.
