Abstract

1399195 Copper alloys OLIN CORP 10 May 1973 [3 July 1973] 22341/73 Heading C7A Copper-base alloys possessing good strength and ductility allied to electrical conductivity making them suitable for use in electric contacts, or connectors, as well as in certain bearing applications consist, by weight, of:- 0.5 to 2.8 per cent iron 0.2 to 2.0 per cent cobalt 0.8 to 3.0 per cent cobalt + iron together 5 to 15 per cent zinc the balance being copper and preferably less than 0.2 per cent impurities. Preferably, the alloying ingredients are melted and cast at a temperature high enough to produce a minimum mould temperature of 1175‹C, hot-rolled at over 500‹C, and cold-rolled in successive stages with intermediate and final anneals at 400 to 600‹C.
