Abstract

1,270,719. Vacuum switches. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. 23 Oct., 1969 [1 Nov., 1968], No. 51941/69. Heading H1N. [Also in Division C7] The contacts of a vacuum switch are made of an alloy of aluminium with copper silver or nickel. A few per cent by weight of a weld inhibiting metal such as bismuth, tellurium or lead may be added. With copper the alloy should contain 9-15% of aluminium; with silver, 5- 10%; with nickel, 8-13%.
